Pneumatic Conveying — Dilute Phase

Behpoo dilute phase systems convey powders and granules through pipework at up to 30 t/h over distances of several hundred metres. The route can bend, rise and split — with no moving parts along it.

In dilute phase conveying, material is suspended in a high-velocity air stream and carried through a pipe. Particles travel individually, fully entrained, from the pick-up point to a receiving filter or silo.

The commercial case is routing. A pipe can turn, rise, run overhead and feed several destinations through diverter valves — none of which a mechanical conveyor does easily. The system is fully enclosed, so nothing escapes and nothing enters.

The trade is velocity. Air must stay above the material's saltation velocity or particles drop out and the line blocks; and that velocity means abrasion at bends and attrition of fragile products. For abrasive minerals and pellets that must arrive intact, [dense phase](dense-phase.md) is the answer.

Behpoo supplies pressure systems with a rotary valve feeding into the line, vacuum systems drawing from several pick-up points to one destination, and combined pressure-vacuum systems.

Product Range

Type What it is Typical use
Pressure System Blower pushes material fed in by a rotary valve One source to several destinations, longer distances
Vacuum System Vacuum pump draws material from pick-up points to a receiver Several sources to one destination; leak-inward for hazardous dust
Combined Pressure-Vacuum Vacuum to a central receiver, then pressure onward Complex plant layouts with many sources and destinations
Truck / Wagon Unloading Vacuum system for discharging bulk vehicles Raw material intake from tankers and wagons
Rail-Car / Ship Unloading High-capacity vacuum with a mobile suction nozzle Port and rail intake

Areas & Application

Polymers & Plastics

Granule transfer from silos to extruders and injection machines, and truck unloading into storage.

Food Processing

Flour, sugar and starch transfer in fully enclosed lines that protect the product and the plant environment.

Chemicals

Powder transfer in vacuum systems, where leak-inward operation contains hazardous dust even if a joint fails.

Cement & Minerals

Fine powder transfer with wear-resistant bends where abrasion sets maintenance intervals.

Animal Feed

Ingredient transfer from intake to batching, with multiple destinations served through diverter valves.

Petrochemicals

Pellet and powder transfer across petrochemical plants, silo to line.
