Cut-Gate Weighing System
Behpoo cut-gate weighing systems are high-speed net weighers for 25 to 50 kg sacks, running to 2,400 bags per hour and beyond. The gate closes in milliseconds, so the material still in flight at shut-off stays small and repeatable even at full rate.

A cut-gate weigher fills a weigh hopper against a load cell, then shuts the flow with a fast-acting gate. Because the gate closes in milliseconds rather than tenths of a second, the column of material still falling at cut-off is short — which is what makes accuracy hold at high speed.

The machine is built for continuous high-tonnage lines rather than occasional batching. On a petrochemical granule line it feeds an FFS or open-mouth bagger directly, weighing one sack while the previous one is being formed and sealed, so the weigher never becomes the bottleneck.
Twin-bucket execution takes it further: two weigh hoppers alternate, one filling while the other discharges. That removes the discharge time from the cycle entirely and is how the highest rates are reached.
Free-flowing granules and pellets suit the principle best, because the in-flight column is predictable. Cohesive powders need the gate geometry and the fine-feed rate matched to the material, and the achievable rate drops accordingly.
Benefits & Features
- Sack weights 25 – 50 kg
- Throughput to 2,400 bags/hour, higher on twin-bucket execution
- Accuracy ±0.1% of target at full rate
- Millisecond gate closing, low and repeatable in-flight material
- Coarse and fine feed from one gate on servo execution
- Twin-bucket option removes discharge time from the cycle
- Hard-faced and ceramic-coated execution for abrasive materials
Product Range
| Type | What it is | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Single Bucket | One weigh hopper, linear blade gate, pneumatic actuation | Granule and pellet lines to about 1,200 bags/h |
| Twin Bucket | Two weigh hoppers alternating, so weighing and discharge overlap | High-tonnage petrochemical lines to 2,400 bags/h and beyond |
| Servo High-Precision | Curved rotary gate on a servo drive, coarse and fine feed from one gate | Where accuracy must hold regardless of air pressure variation |
| Fine-Powder Duty | Curved rotary gate with no linear rails in the product path | Powders that would pack into linear guide rails |

Quoted rates assume a free-flowing product. On cohesive powders the fine-feed rate has to be reduced to hold the tolerance, and the achievable bags per hour falls with it.
Areas & Application
Petrochemicals & Polymers
Granule and pellet bagging at full line rate, where the weigher has to keep pace with an FFS or open-mouth bagger rather than set the pace.
Cement & Dry Mortar
25 and 50 kg sacks on high-tonnage lines, in hard-faced execution where abrasion sets service life.
Fertilizer & Agriculture
Granular fertilizer and seed, with gate geometry matched to the free-flowing behaviour of the product.
Animal Feed
Pellets and meal into paper and woven sacks, with batch records per bag.
Chemicals
Powder and granule filling in ATEX execution where the dust is combustible.
