Screw Conveyor
Behpoo screw conveyors move dry bulk solids over short and medium distances, from DN100 to DN600 and up to 100 m³/h. Seven configurations and nine flight types cover almost any material behaviour.
A screw conveyor moves bulk solids by rotating a helical flight inside a trough or tube. Material is pushed forward along the axis and discharged at the far end, in a fully enclosed path.

It is the workhorse of bulk handling: silo and bin discharge, feeding fillers and mixers, transfer between equipment, live-bottom silo discharge and sludge handling.
Behpoo builds U-trough, tubular, inclined, vertical, shaftless, flexible and live-bottom configurations, with flight geometry selected against your material — standard pitch for horizontal transport, short pitch for inclined and vertical duty, ribbon flights for sticky materials, paddle flights where mixing matters as much as conveying.
Where the conveyor sits directly under a long silo opening, variable pitch or variable diameter is not optional — without it, the screw fills completely at the first part of the opening and draws nothing from the rest.
Flight geometry also decides how much mixing happens along the way. Cut flights blend lightly, cut and folded flights blend and aerate, and paddle flights make mixing the primary function — which is where the screw conveyor meets the [continuous mixer](continuous-mixer.md).

Product Range
| Type | What it is | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| U-Trough | U-shaped section with a removable top cover | Horizontal or low-incline transport with easy inspection access |
| Tubular | Screw rotating inside a closed tube | Full dust containment, and medium to steep inclines |
| Inclined | Trough or tube at an angle, usually up to 45° | Lifting while conveying in the same run |
| Vertical | Vertical screw in a tube with a dedicated feed section below | Lifting in the smallest possible footprint |
| Shaftless | Thick spiral with no centre tube and no hanger bearings | Sticky, stringy materials, sludge and waste |
| Flexible | Spring spiral inside a flexible polymer tube | Awkward routes, portable and temporary installations |
| Live Bottom | Several parallel screws under a large silo or bin opening | Uniform discharge from large or rectangular silos |

Areas & Application
Cement & Minerals
Silo discharge and transfer of cement, lime and mineral powders, in hard-faced execution where abrasion sets service life.
Animal Feed & Grain
Transfer between silos, mixers and bagging lines, with live-bottom screws discharging large flat-bottom silos.
Polymers & Plastics
Granule and powder transfer into extruders and mixers, in dust-tight execution.
Food Processing
Ingredient transfer in SS316 execution with polished surfaces and cleaning access.
Water & Waste Treatment
Sludge and screenings handling with shaftless screws, where sticky and stringy material would wrap a shafted screw.
Chemicals
Powder transfer in gas-tight execution with purged shaft seals, in ATEX-rated areas.
Petrochemicals
Polymer pellet and powder transfer between reactor, silo and bagging line.
