Palletizing is available in mechanical, robotic, cartesian and hybrid configurations at 300 to 2,500 units per hour. The choice comes down to one question: where is the stacking pattern defined? Mechanical systems build it into the structure, which is fast but slow to change. Robotic and cartesian systems define it in software, so a new pattern is a new program. High-tonnage single-product lines choose mechanical; plants with many SKUs choose robotic.
Stretch wrapping then contains the load. Two settings decide both cost and result: pre-stretch ratio, which sets how many metres of film each pallet consumes, and wrap force, which balances load stability against crushing the sacks underneath.
