Open-Mouth Bagging & Sewing Machine

Behpoo open-mouth bagging machines fill pre-made sacks from 5 to 50 kg and close them by sewing or heat sealing. Four automation classes cover 150 to 2,500 sacks per hour.

Open-Mouth Bagging & Sewing Machine

An open-mouth bagging machine fills sacks that arrive ready-made. The sack is placed on a filling spout and clamped, the weighed dose is discharged, the sack is released onto a conveyor and its mouth is closed by a sewing head or sealer.

Behpoo supplies the full automation range, from manual stations where the operator places each sack, up to carousel machines with several filling spouts running in parallel.

One characteristic distinguishes this machine from FFS: throughput is far less dependent on bag weight. Sewing time does not change with how heavy the sack is, so a 50 kg line can run at nearly the same rate as a 25 kg line. That makes open-mouth bagging the usual choice at the heavy end.

The counterpart is the consumable. A pre-made sewn sack costs more per unit than film from a roll, so the machine is typically cheaper to buy and more expensive to run. Where the sack itself is part of the product presentation, that trade is worth making.

Benefits & Features

  • Sack weights 5 – 50 kg
  • Throughput 150 – 2,500 sacks/hour by class
  • Throughput largely independent of sack weight
  • Sewing, heat sealing and folded-and-sewn closing
  • Net weighing with coarse and fine feed
  • Automatic bag magazine on automatic classes
  • Handles woven PP, paper multi-wall and lined sacks

Product Range

Type What it is Typical use
Manual Operator places the sack on the spout and guides it to the sewing head Low tonnage, frequent product changes, wide sack variety
Semi-Automatic Operator only places the sack; clamping, filling, release and sewing are automatic The most common industrial choice — best cost-to-output balance
Automatic Single-Spout Bag magazine and automatic placing arm; no operator in the cycle Continuous high tonnage on a stable product
Automatic Carousel Several filling spouts in parallel on a rotating carousel Highest throughput, single-product lines

Areas & Application

Cement & Gypsum

25 and 50 kg sacks on high-tonnage lines, where sack weight would cap an FFS line but barely affects sewing rate.

Fertilizer & Agriculture

Granular fertilizer and seed in woven PP sacks, often with printed sacks forming part of the brand presentation.

Animal Feed & Aquaculture

Pellets and meal in paper and woven sacks, with lined sacks where moisture protection is required.

Grains & Flour

Rice, flour and sugar in food-grade sacks, in stainless steel execution.

Polymers & Chemicals

Granules and powders in lined sacks, in ATEX execution where dust is combustible.
